taking it easy for round 1

I am starting this blog to motivate others to pursue discipleship and the ministry to others. This is just a test so stay tuned for a more in-depth post. We as leaders have become lazy and are no longer teaching people how to grow closer in their relationship with God. We keep things simple so people can understand or so they can comprehend them. But is that what Jesus did? Were not his parables beyond comprehension for the normal person? Are we short-changing our churches?

  1. Jesus was with the people, especially his key people. Telling the truth, living life daily, teaching and explaining the word. Church staff is missing it when they don't disciple the flock. Too busy doing "church."

  2. Thanks Andy for the push back! Agreed. But Jesus spoke in such a profound way that the disciples were confused. Did He clarify Himself? Yes. But was it simple? No. So how do we come to a point were we are not simply telling people how to live a "good" life, but one that honors God. This is what Jesus did when the disciples asked how they should pray. Jesus did not tell them to act like they were talking with a friend, not use big words, keep it simple, God does not want big words... it is a conversation... keep it simple. Our church is crying out on how to know God more intimatley and deeply. How do we do this? We need to invest time like Jesus did and sacrifice... maybe even our family? Ouch! (even hurts me to say this) am i up for that type of sacrifice? trying to figure this thing out. Open for comments and a push back.
